Indigent Defense Training Coordinator

The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) seeks an Indigent Defense Training Coordinator (IDT) to help plan and implement a National Indigent Defense Training Program.  This grant-funded position offers a unique opportunity to broadly impact indigent defense by developing multiple live and recorded trainings for public defenders across the country.  The IDTC will help develop trainings in consultation with a national working group of public defense leaders and training experts.  Depending on experience, the IDTC may also serve as training faculty. 

Requirements: Minimum qualifications include at least 5 years’ experience representing indigent defendants and 2 years’ experience coordinating and providing legal training.  Comparable experience will be considered.  Familiarity with the indigent defense community is a plus, as is familiarity with professional standards governing indigent defense practice.  Travel is required.

Salary is commensurate with experience and competitive for legal positions at similar nonprofit associations.

Clemency Project Assistant

Requirements: A bachelor's degree; strong writing, organizational, and computer skills; demonstrated interest in criminal justice reform is a plus.
