
Director of Accounting and Administration
Douglas Mitchell, CPA, provides the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Foundation for Criminal Justice with financial and management accounting services and works with the deputy executive director on finance and human resource issues. Doug is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Finance and Business Operations Section of ASAE; The Center for Association Leadership. He has his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and master’s in association management from the George Washington University. His career has included working for RTCA (an advisory committee to the Federal Aviation Administration), National Association for Women in Education, Medical Society of the District of Columbia, and Accountants for the Public Interest. He has also operated his own company with an emphasis on providing chief financial officer and controller services for small businesses. In addition, he has taught courses in association management at Northern Virginia Community College and nonprofit finance at Virginia Tech.
