Susan Bozorgi has been passionately fighting for clients facing criminal charges since 1994. She is a partner at Marrero Bozorgi, PL, a criminal defense firm in Miami, Florida. She started her career as an Assistant Public Defender. In that capacity she tried multiple jury trials as lead counsel defending individuals charged with offenses ranging from misdemeanors to First Degree Murder. Twelve years ago she joined forces with Yery Marrero to form Marrero Bozorgi, PL, a private law firm dedicated to representing individuals and corporations under investigation or charged with criminal offenses with an emphasis on white collar crimes. She has litigated in both State and Federal Courts throughout the country and tried more than 100 jury trials and counting.
Susan Bozorgi is licensed to practice in the State of Florida, New York, Illinois, and District of Columbia. She is also a member of the District Courts for the Southern District of Florida, Middle District of Florida, Southern District of New York, and Eastern District of New York. Susan has been a member of NACDL since 1998 and is currently a member of the Membership Committee and Chair of the Women’s Task Force.
In Miami, Susan has been instrumental in developing community events for women criminal defense attorneys and blogs “for and about champions of justice who just happen to be women” from around the nation. She is a long time member of both the Florida Association of Criminal Lawyers and Florida Association of Women Lawyers, and previously served on the board of FACDL, Miami Chapter. Susan contributes regularly to the University of Miami, School of Law as both a guest lecturer and panelist.
