Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Identify new ways to enhance NACDL’s ability to reach, support, and build relationships with affiliate leaders and administrators with an emphasis on opportunities for collaboration, and increasing membership.
Identify, develop, and manage affiliate tools and resources for successful chapter operations including, but not limited to, training, operational guides, and leadership onboarding.
Monitor affiliate operations, governance, and activities. Ensure compliance with NACDL policies and procedures. Establish key measurements to track affiliate engagement.
Ensure accurate information for all affiliate, partner, sector, and organizational contacts. Track affiliate leadership, elections, meetings, staff, and maintain an up-to-date database.
Review all member related website functions and content and collaborate with staff to update on an as needed basis (e.g. dues renewal process, updating member benefit pages, etc.).
Manage new member onboarding program to improve communications and engagement.
Manage and create campaigns to promote online engagement through the Higher Logic platform.
Assist with member outreach through social media and other online platforms.
Work with NACDL staff to identify new tools and features to enhance the member experience.
Support staff in adding new and updating existing website content.
Work within NACDL to ensure member expectations are met or exceeded.
Influence member benefit development and delivery for members.
Education, Experience and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in a marketing agency, internal marketing department, or association
- 1-2 years of experience in email marketing, specifically experience in executing email campaigns
- Flexible with the ability to adapt to changing conditions
- Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal, and written)
- Ability to generate ideas in an energetic environment and create materials that engage and persuade
- Ability to prioritize, work quickly and manage multiple projects, timelines and deadlines as well as be adaptable and flexible in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to utilize and apply database management and marketing ROI analysis
- Experience in executing email campaigns within Informz or a similar system (i.e. Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo)
- Proficiency with Association Management Systems; experience with Impexium a plus
- Proficiency with the Kentico CMS platform or similar in order to build and edit web pages
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web technologies a plus
Physical Requirements & Environmental Factors

Employees work under typical office conditions, and the noise level is usually quiet. In certain assignments, an employee may occasionally work at NACDL sponsored member events.
Benefits and Application Process
This position is based at NACDL’s Washington, D.C. office, conveniently located near several downtown Metro stations. However, due to the COVID-19 virus, employees are working remotely. This position will be expected to work from the office once it is safe to do so (or once we return to regular operations). The salary range is $45,000 - $50,000, commensurate with experience.
