Program Summary: The follow-up to our popular "Mastering Your Voir Dire Skills in Sexual Assault Cases" program, this special compilation program is designed to help criminal defense practitioners conduct effective jury selection on difficult issues surrounding allegations of sexual assault and child sexual abuse. You will learn new and different techniques on how to educate jurors about common biases and misconceptions in sexual assault cases, and how to empower them to say the words "not guilty". You will also learn about potential voir dire issues in child sexual assault cases, including how to ask questions related to your theme & theory of the case, exposing suggestiveness in child interviews and how to discover each jurors' understanding of child development concepts. Lastly, you will learn about the psychological concepts behind effective voir dire questions and strategies, including recognition of consistent patterns, confirmation bias, issue formation and attribution theory.
