Program Summary: Cross-examination is a fundamental tool in the trial lawyer's toolbox. There is no part of trial practice that can be more difficult or rewarding, but you have to know the limitations in order to be the most effective. This program will explore how to develop a winning case through effective cross-examination.
Learn from some of the nation’s finest experts and seasoned practitioners who will share their proven and time-tested methods for cross-examining; covering both basic and more advanced aspects of cross-examination. You will hone your cross-examination skills and learn to apply them across the board in your trial practice, from preparation, to conveying a story through cross, to taking down that snitch on your way to an acquittal. The program includes specific sessions addressing methods that are common to all trials including impeaching witnesses, uncovering biases, and using technology during cross-examination, as well as how to cross some of the most challenging of witnesses - kids, experts, cops, and snitches, among others. Our expert faculty will guide you through the potentially dangerous scenarios and obstacles of cross-examination, and give you the skills to avoid them on your way to victory!
