Arkansas Abortion Law Post-Dobbs

Arkansas has a total abortion ban, with exceptions for life-saving care. It has not repealed laws that criminalize the performance of abortion at 18 and 20 weeks and viability. In March 2025, Arkansas clarified that mental health, risk of self-harm, and treatable conditions do not qualify for medical emergency exceptions and that doctors cannot be prosecuted for an unintentional pregnancy termination.
