In 2017, NACDL supported the passage of SB 118, legislation to require the publisher of an arrest booking photograph to remove the photograph within 10 days after receiving a written request from the person in the photograph. This protects individuals whose booking photographs are on websites which require payment for removal. The bill was signed into law on June 16, 2017.
