In 2023, NACDL signed onto a coalition letter targeting Congressional leaders, to express opposition to efforts to obstruct implementation of DC’s Revised Criminal Code Act, which would modernize DC’s criminal laws, including ending most mandatory minimums, expand second look, and scale back felony murder laws, among other things. Unfortunately, President Biden signed into law a resolution that blocked Washington, D.C.’s Revised Criminal Code Act (RCCA).
