Learn More About the Death Penalty
In April 2015, the state senate passed SB 40, legislation to repeal the death penalty in Delaware. In January 2016, the bill was advanced by the House Judiciary Committee. NACDL issued a legislative action alert to Delaware members urging them to contact their representatives in support of the legislation. The bill failed to pass the full House.
On August 2, 2016, the Delaware Supreme Court declared the state’s death penalty law unconstitutional.
