Learn More About the Death Penalty
In 2016, the Utah Senate passed SB 189, legislation to repeal the death penalty. As this legislation continued to advance through the legislative process, NACDL issued several legislative action alerts urging members to reach out to their representatives to pass the repeal legislation in the House. The House Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Committee favorably reported SB 189 from committee; however, the full House failed to act on the legislation before adjournment.
