NACDL is collaborating with Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice (AACJ), which is an NACDL affiliate organization, the ACLU of Arizona, and other partners to advocate for drug defelonization in Arizona.
In February 2022, HB 2736 was introduced in the Arizona legislature. The bill would have reclassified drug possession from a felony to a misdemeanor. Unfortunately, the bill did not recieve a hearing before the crossover deadline.
