In 2022, NACDL and the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (WACDL) supported HB 1413, which would have excluded juvenile dispositions from sentencing calculations in adult felony court and required courts to grant resentencing hearings to individuals whose sentences were increased by the inclusion of prior juvenile dispositions in their sentencing calculations. In February 2022, NACDL issued a legislative action alert to its members and advocates in Washington in support of HB 1413. Unfortunately, no action was taken on HB 1413 before the crossover deadline.
