    Biography
I lead an office of several dedicated deputy public defenders who stand with our clients, protect our civil liberties, and fight for our equality before the law. We run a client-centered office, meaning our clients' legal needs are the starting point but not the exclusive concern. While trial skills and aggressive courtroom advocacy are still paramount, we focus on the client as a whole by addressing their needs to prevent further contact with the criminal justice system. We help them find resources for mental health, substance use disorders, family reunification, and many other specific needs on a client-by-client basis. To achieve this, we have a team of support staff that works as the backbone of the organization, a social worker to help our clients with needed resources, investigators that search for the truth when it would otherwise be neglected, and, of course, a team of lawyers willing to stand up to the immense power of the state.
