We worked with the North Dakota Commission on Legal Counsel for Indigents to:
-
Develop a robust training curriculum for current attorneys, contractors, and law students to reinvigorate members of the profession and inspire those seeking to practice in the indigent defense field in North Dakota
-
Conduct state-wide surveys of the defense bar to field interest in potential training topics
-
-
Host a 2 day, in-person training for public defense attorneys throughout the state of North Dakota focusing on improving both courtroom and client relationship skills
-
The program featured a national faculty and was hosted at the University of North Dakota Law School, allowing attendance by both attorneys and law students.
-
The training was recorded, with the recordings made available to North Dakota defense lawyers via the project’s LMS.
-
- Create and host online training resources for defense attorneys
