Washington, DC, Attorney Kobie Flowers Sworn In as Parliamentarian of Nation’s Criminal Defense Bar

Washington, DC (July 26, 2021) – Kobie Flowers was sworn in as Parliamentarian of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) at the Association's annual meeting held on July 24.
For over two decades, Flowers has litigated cases in federal and state courts throughout the United States and in the Military Commissions at Guantanamo Bay as a criminal defense lawyer. Flowers is a partner at Brown, Goldstein & Levy (BGL) in Washington, DC. At BGL, he specializes in representing individuals and businesses in complex criminal and civil matters. As a member of the Attorney General’s Honors Program, Flowers was a civil rights prosecutor at the United States Justice Department, Civil Rights Division, Criminal Section for over four years. There, he specialized in prosecuting police brutality cases. Prior to that role, as an assistant federal public defender in Baltimore, Flowers successfully represented indigent clients charged with federal felonies.
Flowers teaches trial lawyering at the National Criminal Defense College, the Bronx Defenders, and Harvard Law School. Flowers joined the NACDL Board of Directors in 2018. He is the DC Circuit Vice Chair of the Amicus Curiae Committee and served as a member of the Audit, Diversity, White-Collar Crime, and Sousveillance Committees. He also served on Body Worn Camera Task Force. He received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and his J.D. from Georgetown University.
