In 2023, NACDL joined a coalition of advocacy organizations in support of legislation that expands voting rights to formerly incarcerated individuals, signing onto a coalition letter in support of HB 4, which includes a provision that would end New Mexico’s practice of disenfranchisement people on probation and parole. New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed into law legislation HB 4.
