NACDL is proud to announce its first-ever E-Discovery Institute, to be held this September in Manhattan, NY.

Attend this intensive, hands-on, and cutting-edge program to help you learn how to review digital discovery more efficiently. You will learn to use eDiscovery databases, how to use professional-grade generative AI to perform essential legal tasks and improve legal research creating more time for higher-value work, and, we will explore various digital notetaking technologies. After each plenary session throughout the seminar, small breakout groups will be available for hands-on learning of various programs on your own laptop, with the assistance of qualified trainers. This not-to-be-missed training by experts will make you be more productive and successful in defending your clients in the 21st Century.

Scholarships

Partial scholarships are available to NACDL members. Approved recipients can register at a reduced rate of $125. This fee includes seminar tuition and downloadable seminar materials. Travel, hotel, and other costs are not included.

To Apply: Prepare and e-mail a letter of no more than two pages explaining the reason why you believe you should receive the grant to: NACDL Senior Director of Events Akvile Athanason, at aathanason@nacdl.org.
All applications must be submitted before registering for the seminar and received by July 20, 2025.

    Nation’s Defense Bar Reiterates Opposition to Actions Against Law Firms – Washington, DC (March 18, 2025) – The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) remains deeply concerned over recent executive orders targeting law firms, most recently Paul Weiss and Perkins Coie, and repeats its call to uphold the right to counsel and the independence of the legal profession. Despite a ruling blocking the action against Perkins Coie, the administration has continued to target law firms representing disfavored clients and positions, threatening the right to a zealous defense.
